In early October 2023, four Israelis—Ori Brusilovsky, Shaked Lotan, Sahar Zehavi, and Ido Adler—joined The Ludum Dare 54 Game Jam to create Prickle, a grid-based puzzle game where a father hedgehog (DadHog) guides his mischievous hoglets home. They had no idea that Jam game would go on to be sold to be published online, go on to be made into a full game and win Best Puzzle Game of 2024.
The Team go by “Team Sunbird”, publishing their games on Itch.io. Prior to Prickle, Their most notable project is the “Bibi Run”, which they fondly refer as “Bibush”, a political runner browser game that went viral in August 2023, where you play as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu jumping over protestors in Tel Aviv that is slowly descending into madness. It was played over 100,000 times and was also released on Play Store later. We met with Ori, Sahar and Shaked to talk about their incredible journey.
